Fall 2020 Cohort
The Humanity First for Illinois Fall 2020 Internship Program launched with two termed cohorts:
Term A, August 31, 2020 - December 4, 2020
Term B, September 21, 2020 - December 18, 2020
11 Intern Candidates joined the Humanity First for Illinois Team for 12 weeks of supporting the development, launch, and education of our Four Points Forward platform and our ongoing engagement with our stakeholders.
Our 14 Candidates came to the Humanity First for Illinois Team from:
Northern Illinois University,
University of Chicago,
University of Illinois at Chicago,
University of Illinois Springfield,
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign,
University of Missouri-Columbia, and
University of Washington.
The Humanity First for Illinois Internship Program is an educational, stakeholder-focused civic program. All Fall Intern Candidates will work together in teams of 2 or 3 to reflect each week on their community impact and complete a civic engagement project before the end of their term.
The Humanity First for Illinois Team is excited to be able to support each member of the Fall 2020 Cohort throughout their term. Regular professional development activities are planned that are both manager-led and self-identified. In accordance with our Guiding Principles, the Humanity First for Illinois Internship Program celebrates each of our interns and empowers them to seek out information and knoweldge to prepare them for careers in their respective fields.

Deepak Jadhav is a second-year graduate student at DePaul University in Sustainable Management. A native of Mumbai, India, and current resident of Chicago, Illinois, Deepak hopes to work with climate change and sustainability initiatives upon graduation. He has professional experience in working with numerous brands, retailers, and manufacturers on climate impact assessments, and environmental and waste management practices. In his spare time, Deepak enjoys reading and cooking. Deepak is excited to join the Humanity First for Illinois Team this fall as an Illinois Sustainability Intern focusing on research, development, and communicating Humanity First for Illinois PAC’s sustainability and equity policies concerning “A Green Future for Illinois” as part of the Four Points Forward policy platform.
